Figure Drawing for October 31, 2010

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Darn!  I was hoping to get **SOMETHING** Halloween-related done this week to post today, but, alas, I was too busy.  However, here's a skull I drew as a still life a while back.  So, it is sort of related....  :-)

This was done with charcoal, carbon pencil, and white chalk on 8-1/2" x 11" gray cardstock.

Figure Drawing for October 22, 2010

40 Minute Pose

Hey, it's my 200th posted figure drawing.  Hooray!

And one year since my first "real" post featuring my construction of a couple Halloween decorations for our yard (the real REAL first post was just a test message the month before, so I barely count it).  Alas, I am a little busy to do any other big Halloween constructions this year.  Maybe I'll just have to double up for next year... :-)  Well, on with the show...

This was done with charcoal, carbon pencil, and white chalk on 12" x 12" brown cardstock.

Again, during the session, there was a red and blue lamp used to light the model--hence the different coloration.

This was done with pastel on 12" x 18" black Strathmore paper.

Figure Drawing for October 17, 2010

30 Minute Pose

The next few postings will have pictures from when the session used colored lights (red and blue)--vaguely inspired by the Shepard Fairey, who did the Obama "Hope" poster.  That should explain the atypical coloration of the models... :-)

This was done with pastel on 12" x 18" black Strathmore paper.  Once again, the black paper drawings never seem to photograph quite right.  Oh, well.
