Figure Drawing for March 20, 2011

A SERIES OF (Minor) UNFORTUNATE EVENTS:

For this session last week, the model was unable to make it at the last minute.  So, the person that runs the class volunteered and we were all just going to work on doing portraits for a little while.  Of course, 15 minutes into the drawing session, the fire alarm for the building went off for a fire drill (no actual fire or anything).

After that, we considered it a sign, packed up our stuff, and went home early for the evening.  So, this picture is even more unfinished than usual and I didn't have the full, planned time to push any darks/shadows and apply any highlights, etc.  But, I figured the incident was mildly amusing and thought I'd post the picture even in its half-finished state.

Some days are just like that, I guess...  :-)

15 Minute Pose

This was done with charcoal and carbon pencil on 8-1/2" x 11" gray cardstock.
